1. Online Events
- A full refund will be issued for online event registrations if a cancellation request is received at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled event start time.
- No refunds will be provided for online events after they have occurred. Regardless of refund status, all registrants receive a complimentary recording of the event, which constitutes the delivered value of their registration.
2. In-Person Events and General Meetings
- All registrations and tickets for in-person events and general meetings are non-refundable.
- In-person event registrations may be transferred to another individual at no additional cost. To transfer a registration, the original registrant must contact the ROA office prior to the event start time with the name and contact information of the substitute attendee.
3. Membership Auto-Renewals – Two-Week Grace Period
- If a member is charged for an automatic renewal and did not intend to renew, they may contact the ROA office within 14 calendar days (two weeks) of the charge date to request a cancellation and full refund.
- For the purposes of this policy, a renewal "in error" is defined as a member who missed the deadline to cancel their auto-renewal prior to the charge date and did not wish to continue their membership. This grace period is offered as a courtesy to accommodate such situations.
4. Other Renewal Types
- All other membership renewals, including those initiated manually or via paper invoice, are non-refundable.
5. Forms, Books, and Other Physical Merchandise
- Sales of forms, books, and other physical merchandise are final. However, unused items in their original condition may be returned within 3 business days of purchase for in-store credit only. No cash or credit card refunds will be issued for merchandise.
- Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the purchaser.
6. Digital Products and Recording Sales
- All sales of digital products, including but not limited to downloadable forms, guides, and event recordings, are final. No refunds or credits will be issued for digital purchases.
7. Dispute Resolution and Chargebacks
- By completing a purchase or renewal with the ROA, you agree to contact the ROA office directly to resolve any billing dispute, refund request, or concern regarding your transaction prior to contacting your bank or credit card issuer.
- While the ROA respects your rights under applicable consumer protection laws, we ask that you give us the opportunity to address your concern first. In most cases, we can resolve issues quickly and directly.
- If a member files a chargeback or payment dispute without first contacting the ROA office to attempt resolution, the ROA reserves the right to:
o Suspend the member's account pending investigation of the dispute.
o Require repayment of the disputed amount plus any associated chargeback fees before membership privileges are restored.
o Terminate membership for repeated violations of this policy.
- The ROA will cooperate fully with any legitimate dispute filed in accordance with your cardholder rights. This policy is intended to encourage direct communication, not to limit your legal protections.
